3.1 Scope

The following social criteria apply to all textile processing, manufacturing and trading stages which are employing workers. The
same principles and requirements apply also to the farm level, taking account of its specific nature and recognizing the limited direct
monitoring and assurance possibilities with this Standard.

For adequate implementation and assessment of the following specific criteria adherence to the corresponding International Labour
Conventions of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) must be assured.

3.2 Employment is freely chosen

 There is no servitude, forced, bonded or indentured labour.

 Workers are not required to lodge "deposits" or their identity papers with their employer and are free to leave their employer after
reasonable notice.

3.3 Freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining are respected

 Workers, without distinction, have the right to join or form trade unions of their own choosing and to bargain collectively.
所有工人應一視同仁地擁有自由選擇加入工會、組建工會和參加集體談判的權利。  The employer adopts an open attitude towards the activities of trade unions and their organisational activities.

 Workers representatives are not discriminated against and have access to carry out their representative functions in the workplace.

 Where the right to freedom of association and collective bargaining is restricted under law, the employer facilitates, and does not
hinder, the development of parallel means for independent and free association and bargaining and allows their workers to freely
elect their own representatives with whom the company can enter into dialogue about related issues.
